HEADLINES MARCH-MAY 2020
On Yom Ha’atzmaut, Beit Prat hosted a special megillah reading of Israel’s Declaration of Independence, Megillat Atzmaut, with traditional Jewish te’amim. This Beit Prat practice integrates ancient Jewish tradition and values into the foundational fabric and celebration of the modern State of Israel.
Despite social distancing, the Beit Prat community came together virtually to mourn and to celebrate, to reflect and to sing during the transitional hours between Yom Hazikaron, Israel’s Memorial Day, and Yom Haatzmaut, Israel’s Independence Day.

Israelis from across the political and religious spectrum – including President Ruvi Rivlin, Yair Lapid, and Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Lion – participated in this year’s Ten Days of Gratitude campaign with public expressions of gratitude on social media.
Gratitude for Our Medical Teams
Alumni of Beit Prat launched the 9th year of the Ten Days of Gratitude campaign, a new Israeli and Jewish practice to nurture gratitude during the days linking Yom Hashoa and Yom Haatzmaut. This year the campaign is focused on expressing gratitude towards Israel’s diverse medical teams, who are on the front lines of fighting the pandemic
